هي العراقية بسمة علاوي, لاجئة سابقة، و اليوم هي ناشطة في مجال حقوق المهاجرين و اللاجئين، و مستشارة في قضايا الهجرةً.
بسمة علاوي مؤسسة المنظمة الخيرية “Weave Tales”. مؤلفة، كاتبة، معلمة، مهندسة، ومتحدثة عامة. تمً انتخابها مندوبةولاية فلوريدا في مؤتمر اللاجئين التابع للمفوضية. و هي عضو مجلس ادارةً USAHello وًالعديد من المنظمات الخيرية. هي المنظمة الحكومية للاجئين مع تحالف فلوريدا للمهاجرين. في الاونةً الاخيرةً تم ترشيحها لتكون واحدة من نساء اثينا 40 في العالم اللواتي يقودن التغيير. و مرشحة من ضمن 365 امرأة ملهمة في العالم.
Our guest today is a woman that understands the hardships and struggles of being a refugee and the emotional pain of being away from those you love. Basma Alawee has endured the hardships of war, and her family suffered from threats due to her husband’s involvement in helping US companies in Iraq. The purpose was to help educate both sides on the opposite culture. They had to seek emergency refuge in the US and this meant that they had to leave everyone they knew behind without even being able to say goodbye.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Material engineering and she has managed to create an exemplary lifestyle with her husband. One with plenty of volunteer work and studies to help others in need. We are glad to have her on our show to learn more about her journey.
