Charlene Elder is the First Arab American Hijabi Muslim Woman to be elected to a high court in the United States. She has been a Judge for the Wayne county Third Circuit Court for fifteen years. In addition to that, she was involved in the initiative to create the domestic violence prevention court to handle domestic abuse cases. She is a board member of the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services as well as a Michigan chapter of the American/ Arab Anti Discrimination Committee. Her achievements throughout her career have also earned a position as a member of the Michigan judges Association. A woman that inspires and a commanding presence that believes injustice.
